Le Testimonial is a celebration of popular goalkeeper Romain Larrieu’s ten years as a Pilgrim, and begins with a prestige match against Premier League Queens Park Rangers.

Last season’s npower Championship title-winners, managed by former Argyle boss Neil Warnock, visit Home Park on Wednesday, July 20.

Premier League referee Mark Halsey has agreed to officiate and Argyle Ladies will stage an exhibition game as a curtain-raiser to the main game against Rangers’ first-team squad, which should include former Home Park favourites Jamie Mackie and Ákos Buzsáky.

Romain’s Testimonial Year, which starts officially on July 1, will also comprise a Guest Speaker Evening, a Gala Ball, and a Celebrity Golf Day, with the support of Biovit Sports Supplements and three local charities – The Mustard Tree Macmillan Centre, CATS (Community Action Through Sport), and Jeremiah’s Journey - being chosen by Romain to be amongst the beneficiaries of the season-long activities.

Romain made his 300th appearance for Argyle last season, becoming only the 24th Pilgrim to have reached this significant landmark, following in the illustrious studmarks of other goalkeeping greats such as Fred Craig, Geoff Crudgington and Bill Shortt.

‘Le Keeper’ arrived at Home Park on a one-month trial contract in December 2000 and soon became a regular…and a fans’ favourite.

He was one of the stars of the Division Three 2001-02 title win, setting set a new club record of 27 clean sheets.

He won the Player of the Season award for 2008-09, and was named club captain at the start of the following season.
